After being involved in a serious car accident, Henry Ruggs III was charged with DUI resulting in death, according to officials. The second-year wide receiver for the Las Vegas Raiders was involved in a terrible incident in Las Vegas early Tuesday in the AM hours.

Ruggs, 22, was driving the Chevrolet Corvette that was included in a crash near the intersection of South Spring Valley Parkway and South Rainbow Boulevard just before 3:40 a.m., according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a Toyota Rav4 in flames, according to authorities. A deceased victim was discovered inside the vehicle after the fire department arrived.

Ruggs’ car collided with the victim’s vehicle’s rear end, according to the preliminary inquiry. Scenes of the crash were seen in local media coverage. One car appeared to be heavily burnt, while the other was fully destroyed.

Ruggs was taken to a local hospital and treated for “non-life-threatening” injuries.
