Smart phones are ruining live events. Turn off your phone and enjoy the moment. No one cares about your fireworks videos on social media. AND, if you really want a video of the fireworks or ball drops - then just download the good copy from the people HIRED to record this stuff. The smart phones and social media are the worst inventions ever, the total downfall of society. We have smarter phones and dumber people. This is a major problem for the future of our society, that's for sure.
