According to the Michigan State Police (MSP), an MSP trooper was killed in the line of duty on Wednesday, January 24, when he was conducting a traffic stop along I-75. Apparently, he and other MSP troopers had stopped a driver they suspected of driving under the influence at about 7 pm, and and elderly driver crashed into their patrol cars.
