Peter Doocy knows how to ask great questions that make KJP look like the worst press secretary in recent history. This question came after a second possible assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Doocy asked KJP: “It’s been only two days since somebody allegedly tried to kill Donald Trump again. And you’re here at the podium in the White House briefing room calling him a threat. How many more assassination attempts on Donald Trump until the president and the vice president and you pick a different word to describe Trump other than threat?”
KJP calmly freaked out and tried to spin the question back on Doocy, but she failed and actually made it look like she supports the very same rhetoric that Doocy is talking about. KJP's response was: “I actually completely disagree with the premise of your question, the question that you’re asking. It is also incredibly dangerous in the way that you’re asking it, because American people are watching..." she kept going... "To say that from an administration who has consistently condemned political violence…that’s what we’ve done from here.”
Both things can be true. People from the White House can disavow violence, but they can also say someone is a threat and people can take it seriously. Democrats should stop saying Donald Trump is a threat to democracy and look around at what's going on. Attempted assassinations, RFK being forced to stay on ballots, the common rejection of voter ID from some Democrats - these are all things that actually threaten a democracy.
