Looks like a women's volleyball team is taking a stand for what's right as they forfeit a match against a team with a biological male player. This is the story about Boise State women's volleyball team and they refuse to compete against San José State, the team with the biological male. The male player is Blaire Fleming and he spikes the ball a LOT FASTER and a LOT HARDER than his female counterparts. He's a transgender woman, but still a physical biological male, and many women are not interested in being spiked in the face by a guy.
Former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines pointed this out about Blaire Fleming a few months ago, saying this on X: "Male player from San Jose State @SanJoseStateVB , Blaire Fleming, leads his team to victory against Iowa @IowaVolleyball" and "Look how high he jumps. Look at the speed of the ball. Not only is this unfair, it's dangerous."
To make things more interesting, one of Blaire Fleming's teammates is part of a lawsuit against the NCAA for letting him compete on the women's team based on his identity, as reported on MSN. The report also said the following: “Brooke estimates that Fleming’s spikes were traveling upward of 80 mph, which was faster than she had ever seen a woman hit a volleyball,” the complaint said. “The girls were doing everything they could to dodge Fleming’s spikes but still could not fully protect themselves.”
The statement from Boise State said: "Boise State volleyball will not play its scheduled match at San José State on Saturday, Sept. 28. Per Mountain West Conference policy, the Conference will record the match as a forfeit and a loss for Boise State. The Broncos will next compete on Oct. 3 against Air Force."
