Nancy Mace's ex-fiancé, Patrick Bryant, is suing her for defamation, alleging she fabricated sexual assault accusations to gain leverage in their separation and acquire their joint properties. Bryant claims Mace conspired with a mutual acquaintance's estranged wife to create a false narrative. In a February 2025 House floor speech, Rep. Nancy Mace accused Bryant and three other men of being sexual predators who filmed and assaulted women without their consent, including herself. She claimed to have found more than 10,000 incriminating videos and photos on Bryant's phone, which she said she turned over to law enforcement. Filed in November 2025, Bryant's lawsuit claims Mace's allegations are part of a "blackmail scheme" to force him to give her full ownership of two jointly-held properties. The suit claims Mace and the estranged wife of Eric Bowman (another man Mace accused) met and conspired to frame Bryant and others, then convinced a former employee (identified as "Jane Doe" in a separate lawsuit) that a sexual assault had occurred. Bryant alleges Mace told a political consultant she would use images from his phone to get the properties, but never mentioned the specific, heinous crimes she later detailed publicly. Bryant and the other accused men have categorically denied the allegations.
