Dave Dombrowski admits Bryce Harper may never be elite again at 33

Reporting from SportsRadio94WIP: “Phillies president Dave Dombrowski admits he’s unsure if Bryce Harper, who turns 33 today, can return to being an elite player:
“I guess we only find out if he becomes elite [again] or he continues to be good…Can he rise to the next level again? I don’t really know that answer.”
Here’s the thing folks. You can still be an amazing athlete at 33 and Bryce Harper plays first base. So basically, Harper just stands there and catches the ball from his other guys, then goes to bat, and he’ll be fine for another few years.
And no, there is no way that a 33-year-old athlete will return to his prime 20’s level domination. Even the best athletes out there struggle to get to their prime years as they go deeper into their 30s.
Then again, this is baseball, so we’re not talking about a running back or athlete who runs around all day. Baseball is just some guys having a catch, so maybe Bryce Harper can be elite again.
Time will tell.
All I know is this – start hitting the ball in October or you’re gonna lose fans.
