Defensive end Chase Young was traded to the San Francisco 49ers from the Washington Commanders. Young found out he was traded on social media, before the team officially let him know. This is probably the most disrespectful way a player can find out they’ve been shipped to another team. Young was traded for a 3rd round draft pick.
After the trade, there was mumbles of what Chase Young was like behind the scenes, with some sources suggesting he was ‘undisciplined’ and would deviate from a game plan in hopes to make a ‘splash play.’ Other commentators suggest he’s a great talent, but needs to be used in the correct way.
Chase Young must perform at a high level and show he’s a solid teammate in hopes to sign a big contract in the off-season. Chase Young will be dealing with free agency soon, so he better make an impact in a way that his bank account will be happy with.
Dov Kleiman added more information on the Chase Young trade, saying the following on X: “Update: New #49ers DE Chase Young said wasn’t actually told by the #Commanders they’re trading him, he found out from social media. After the trade, a report came out saying that some #Commanders coaches viewed Young as an “Undisciplined player” who developed bad habits. Young would reportedly deviate from assignments in an effort to make “Splash plays” Young will need to play well the rest of the season in hopes to earn a big contract as a pending free-agent at the end of the year.“”
