Former NFL RB Zac Stacy arrested, faces 15 years after assault of ex-girlfriend was caught on video

Former Jets running back Zac Stacy was arrested in Florida after allegedly attacking his ex-girlfriend while their 5-month-old son was on the couch nearby and the incident was caught on video.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Stacy was charged with aggravated battery and criminal mischief over the assault of his baby’s mother, Kristin Evans, at her Oakland, Fla., home on Saturday.

According to police he struck her on the right side of her head, and picked her up and threw her against the television, causing it to crack and fall over. “While she was still on the floor pleading for him to stop, he picked her up and body-slammed her onto a baby walker, causing the object to break.”

The 30-year-old is currently being held in Orange County Jail with bond set at $10,150, as a judge ordered Stacy at a court appearance Friday, to turn in his passport, surrender any guns and have no contact with the victim.

Evans claimed, in a restraining order, that Stacy had been abusing her since she became pregnant with his child last year, with the attacks escalating, and she also filed a police report in October after Stacy allegedly slapped her while she was holding their son.

“Personally I feel the state should have several more charges but thank you to everyone who made this possible!!! We are halfway there,” Evans posted on her Instagram as she called for more charges against Stacy after his arrest. “CONVICTION & SENTENCING NEXT!”

This was not the first accident for this couple, as on Aug 16, they had a “verbal altercation,” and Evans told police “no violence occurred.” But on Sept. 26 the police were again called after Stacy allegedly hit Evans in the face with a handful of mail and fled before police arrived. The Oakland Police Department filed a domestic-violence battery charge with the state attorney general against Stacy, as Evans declined to press charges.
