Ian Rapoport said on X: “#Eagles WR DeVonta Smith, who was spotted leaving yesterday\u2019s game in a walking boot, is believed to be dealing with a mild ankle sprain, sources say. He\u2019ll have more tests today, but not considered a major injury.”<\/p>\n
The injury took place while DeVonta Smith was blocking on a screen play designed for running back Kenneth Gainwell, a play many fans criticized Offensive Coordinator Brian Johnson for – saying Smith should never be in the mix as a lead blocker in any fashion, due to his size. DeVonta Smith is as tough as they come, but a bigger body would likely be more effective in blocking during the bubble screen.<\/p>\n
