Philadelphia Eagles give up sixth round draft pick for guy who hasn’t played a single NFL snap

Frank BojaziMay 1, 2024

The Philadelphia Eagles and Denver Broncos beat today’s trade deadline to seal the deal on a trade sending a 2022 sixth round pick to Denver in exchange for DB Kary Vincent Jr, a guy who hasn’t played a snap in the NFL yet.

Trade: Eagles have acquired DB Kary Vincent Jr. from Denver in exchange for a 2022 6th-round pick.

Is Kary Vincent Jr. any good? I dunno, he looked alright in college and got drafted in the seventh-round pick in the 2021 draft, so maybe he is, but maybe he isn’t.

It’s kinda weird that the Eagles gave up a 6th for him considering he hasn’t even played in a real NFL game yet.

Sure, he’s on the Broncos roster, but who cares if you’re not getting on the grass?

Here’s a few college highlights:

Jimmy Kempski over at Philly Voice made quite an understatement when he said the Eagles are stockpiling and hoping a few of them work out.

Vincent was a seventh-round pick (237th overall) of the Broncos in the 2021 NFL Draft. He made the Broncos’ 53-man roster, but has not yet played a snap in the NFL. The Eagles have acquired six cornerbacks since the 2021 NFL Draft:

May 18: They traded a sixth-round pick to the Jaguars for Josiah Scott.
June 25: They signed Steven Nelson.
September 2: They claimed Andre Chachere off of waivers from the Colts.
September 7: They signed Mac McCain off of the Broncos’ practice squad.
October 15: They traded Zach Ertz to the Cardinals for a fifth-round pick and Tay Gowan.
November 2: They traded a sixth-round pick to the Broncos for Kary Vincent, Jr.

All of those guys — plus Darius Slay, Avonte Maddox, and rookie fourth-round pick Zech McPhearson — are on the 53-man roster. That’s nine corners. The Eagles appear to be stockpiling young corners and hope that one or two of them pan out.

You know what I would like to see “pan out” is Nick Sirianni and his terrible play calling on offense.

I don’t care if they put up 44 against the Detroit Lions. You’re SUPPOSED to beat the worst teams by a lot of points. I do care that Eagles fans have to chant RUN THE BALL during the game to remind the coach to do his job.

How much does coach Sirianni make to call terrible plays and lose games anyway? Well, according to NBC Chicago, Nick Sirianni’s salary is a mystery as of last month.

You want to know why? Because if Eagles fans knew how much that guy was making to suck at his job, we’d throw a fit.

You saw what happened to Santa Claus, right?
