Phillies’ Rob Thomson will return, because hey – it’s not his fault the top players can’t hit a f*cking beach ball in the post season

The Philadelphia Phillies were once again embarrassed in the playoffs when they lost in 4 games to the LA Dodgers.
This isn’t because of manager Rob Thomson who’s guided the team to the playoffs several years in a row.
This isn’t because of Orion Kerkering’s series ending mistake – even though it kind of is.
It’s because the top three highly paid players can’t hit sh*t in the post season.
We’re looking at you Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, and Trea Turner.
What’s the point of paying these guys all that money if they get the same result year after year? Heck, they’ve been to a World Series, but now they can’t even get past the first 4 games of Red October.
I say split them up and get some guys who can play small ball. Get players who are clutch. Get guys who won’t swing at every single pitch looking for the hero homer. Get some guys with ice in their veins who don’t care where they are, who’s pitching, or anything – they just go out and play no matter what.
But anyway, Todd Zolecki said the following on X: “Can confirm this. Rob Thomson will return. There had been speculation following the team’s early postseason exit.”
Why are the Phillies paying Bryce Harper, Schwarber (maybe again), and Trea Turner all that money to not be clutch in the post season?
What's the point?
