Legendary boxer Mike Tyson talked about his upcoming exhibition fight with Jake Paul during an interview with Sean Hannity. Going on Sean Hannity’s show was kind of weird, but so is Mike Tyson fighting at age 57. Tyson is fighting former YouTuber Jake Paul who’s only 27, but it’s not a real boxing match so the outcome is likely already determined. It’s more or less a paycheck for both of these guys, and good for them for finding ways to make money, but some criticize exhibition boxing matches as a stain on real boxing.
Some notable quotes from Mike Tyson during his interview with Sean Hannity: “I was 100 pounds overweight, I was however old, 54, 53, and I said ‘Let’s do it.’ Anything I’m afraid of, I confront it. That’s my personality. Right now, I’m scared to death… I always believed that adversity and nervousness pretty much catapulted me into success. If I didn’t have these feelings, I wouldn’t go into this fight. I have to have these feelings to fight. Without them, I would never go in the ring… I saw a YouTube of him at 16 doing weird dances. That’s not the guy I’m gonna be fighting… This guy is gonna come, he’s gonna try to hurt me, which I’m accustomed to, and he’s gonna be greatly mistaken.”
Where to watch Mike Tyson fight Jake Paul?
The Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul boxing match is July 20 and will be live-streamed on Netflix exclusively. If you already have Netflix, then you’re good to go. If not, then go over someone’s house and watch it so you don’t have to pay.
Here’s an undated boxing video of Mike Tyson. This isn’t his highlight reel from his glory days, but it shows ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson working out.
